Introduction
Thanks to the improvement of medicine, people are living longer, but have multiple and complex health conditions. In the upcoming aged society, rehabilitation would be more important in order to improve people's quality of life. Rehabilitation engineering is a board term that means the systematic application of engineering sciences to design, develop, adapt and evaluate technological solutions to problems confronted by individuals with disabilities and/or weaknesses.
Therefore, the major goal of Rehabilitation Engineering Lab is to help the disabled as well as the elderly people improve their quality of life by using state-of-the-art technologies. Of many technologies, we have focused on robotics (i.e. robot and sensor), neuroengineering (i.e. brain mapping), and their convergence to provide innovative and practical solution/service.
In addition, we are also interested in the following fundamental robot technologies: Telerobotics, Haptic interfaces, and nonlinear/impedance control.
